Playing that HTML game!!

It was a very enjoyable experience creating my own html page. At first the idea that a sequence of lines of words starting with a < > and then ending with a </ > could form together to form an actual page with images and words was outstanding. After reading through the packet I was intrigued to see what else could be done on a html page so I ventured onto Youtube and looked up other things such as how to have text in a larger font or how to add a background picture. Overall it was all pretty standard and very simple to pick up.

Presentation

For my presentation I'd like to talk about the impact of technology on the newer generation and if such a heavy influence of technology has effected them in a better or negative way. Focusing on the aspects of cellphones, social networking, and gaming.

Back Problems
All Out Laziness

E-mailing and Mailing

Similarities

1. Forms of communication.
2. Both require you to sit down and write/type out your thoughts down.
3. There is a place where the message is being sent from and a place that is receiving it.
4. There are phases or stops the message needs to make before being sent out.
5. Both require an address.
6. Can talk to people across the country.

Differences

1. One is a form of electronic communication whereas the other is a physical form of communication.
2. The time it takes for a message to arrive at it's destination.
3. When e-mailing someone if you get their address wrong the message does not send while mailing someone with the incorrect address could lead to someone else receiving the message and not the recipient.
4.  You can use cellphones to send e-mails, however, you can not use your cellphones to send regular mail.

My Expectations

For this quarter I'm expecting to learn the basics and basis of technology, and to grasp an understanding of where our world is heading to. The world we live in today is vastly different from where it was twenty years ago. Unknown to most of the younger generations today there was a time when TVs had to be turned on manually and cell phones were as big as your head. Having grown up somewhere in between now and then it has been interesting watching technology evolve so quickly and seeing certain inventions go obsolete such as the VHS or flip phones. Overall I'd like to gain a better understanding of how technology works and how it effects us as a society.
